Defence firms start tracking people on internet

February 10, 2013

Raytheon, the world's fifth largest defence contractor, has developed a software able to track "trillions of entities" (read: people) on internet, starting with social networks (facebook...). Officially, it has been designed for the US governement.

Our analysis:

For once, civilian companies have entered this area first: after all, it is the job of Google, Facebook, Apple & co to draw up profiles of as many people as possible. But the defense and governmentof organizations will certainly go deeper in terms of tracking people and of condamning privacy.
